preeti:
hello sir
preeti:
I wnat to know about the health of depressed person
Swapan Kumar Panda:
Good afternoon Mr. Mukherjee...........In recent years we have heard lots about impact of climate change on Himalayas...please tell us those major impacts
kdgm:
Hello Swapan Panda, Welcome to our chat session. We will start it at 3.30 pm. In case you want to ask it now, please go ahead with it.
Swapan Kumar Panda:
No problem...I will ask then only.
kdgm:
hello preeti, Welcome to Chat session. We will start the programme shortly. Please wait for a while..
sumit:
Hello Sir
sumit:
Good afternoon
preeti: hello
sumit:
hii preeti
preeti:
can u tell me about some depression solution
preeti:
hello sir
abhishek:
preeti i think today chat session is on nature not on health
Swapan Kumar Panda:
Good afternoon Mr. Mukherjee...........In recent years we have heard lots about impact of climate change on Himalayas...please tell us those major impacts
shri alok mukherjee:
Welcome all for today,s chat session on impact of climate change and natural hazards
divya: hi sir
shri alok mukherjee:
Hello Mr. Panda, The impacts of climate change that himalayas are facing today in brief are glacial melt and retreat biodiversity changes and slope in stability trigered by
shri alok mukherjee: flash floods
shri alok mukherjee:
Helo divya ask you question please
Swapan Kumar Panda:
Mr Mukher jee could you just tell us on retreat biodiversity..a little bit.
shri alok mukherjee: Divya ask your question please
divya:
Sir is there any technology which can measure that which areas r sensitive from the diasters point of view Arvind: Good afternoon sir
divya:
sir
divya:
Sir is there any technology which can measure that which areas r sensitive from the diasters point of view gautam agnihotri: hello sir
chirag:
hello sir
Prakash Joshi:
good afternoon sir
Nimish Kapoor:
Goodafternoon...!
Arvind:
Sir, do you think that increase in Delhi temp is because of global warming
chirag:
can you tell us sir the main factor of landslides....\\
Ravindra Singh Parmar: Good Afternoon Sir
sopu:
Hi everybody ....
Ravindra Singh Parmar: What are the consequences of climate change events in the humanitarian field?
shri alok mukherjee:
Mr panda, biodiversity world wide is shifting towards the poles northward and in altitudinal gradient the shift is upwards upland. so species have become rarer and lost territory towards south weedy or opportunity species at the expence or scarecer species with narrow or more specialized ecological requirements is finding its place
divya:
Sir is there any technology which can measure that which areas r sensitive from the diasters point of view sopu: Hi Mr. Mukherjee...what has been the rise in temp. in Himalayas in present time..
shri alok mukherjee:
Hello Nimish, Prakash, Arvind Gautham
Nimish Kapoor:
What kind of awareness is required at ground level?
divya:
awareness in which concern
Prakash Joshi: sir, i want to know about mystery of Bermuda triangle
sopu:
Also what was the kind of rainfall in Himalayas inrecent times....
divya:
Sir is there any technology which can measure that which areas r sensitive from the diasters point of view sushi: sir, can u tell me any place in the world that did not have any type of natural hazards.
Ravindra Singh Parmar:
Dear Sir, please name some organisations which are working on the effect of climate change on biodiversity.
Nimish Kapoor:
Awareness regarding reasons and sources of the issue for a common man, who may be the last victim of global warming
shri alok mukherjee:
Hello Divya, Disaster are consequences of hazards they have to be specified in brief technology for techtonic and climate change related hazards exist . Seismicity of a region and vulnerability of places can be monitored before there are sites already marked which are mostly distrubed, as hot spots by world heritage group. Ravindra Singh Parmar: Dear sir, How can climate change affected historical sites?
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Ravindra, wild life trust World wide fund for nature, Bird life International and Audubon Society are activiely monitoring biodiversity changes
divya:
i think common man has nothig to do with this bcoz u cant do nothing
sopu:
Mr. Mukherjee....landslide is a natural hazard in mountains. What are the mitigation steps?
sumit:
prakash
Ravindra Singh Parmar:
Than you Sir!
sumit:
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is an area in the Atlantic Ocean where the disappearance of many people and their aircraft and surface vessels has been attributed by some to the paranormal, a suspension of the laws of physics, or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Some of the disappearances involve a level of mystery which is often popularly explained by a variety of theories beyond human error or acts of nature. An abundance of documentation for most incidents suggests that the Bermuda Triangle is a sailors' legend, later embellished by professional writers.
Ravindra Singh Parmar:
How can we avert the immediate disaster resulting from outburst of glacial lakes?
divya:
sir i gone through an article which suugests thst Snowy forests 'increase warming'
divya:
is this right
Prakash Joshi: sumit
Prakash Joshi:
sumit
sumit:
impact of global warming
sumit:
what is impact of global warming????
divya:
sir i gone through an article which suugests thst Snowy forests 'increase warming'
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Nimish, You are right though there is much hue and cry on global warming there is derth of trining material and public awarness on climate issues. Scientific community often lack the power to implement their reconmendations in the third world countries warning systems have been installed but unity to fight for getting credits by storing carbon as aforestion may be practiced .
sumit:
joshi jii it's right
Prakash Joshi:
u told that Bermuda triangle is a legend but did any research by science on it
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Sumit, You Know global temperature has increasedd by 0.6 D
sumit:
How to prevent a cougar attack?
swapan kumar panda:
Hi Mr. Mukherjee....How can Carbon Sequestration help in climate change perspective? gautam agnihotri: sir what the scientist are doing to control the natural hazards
gautam agnihotri:
is there any active paricipation
gautam agnihotri:
or they say only when something happens diaster
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Sumit, Global warming causes sea level rise, Mealting of ice sheets, temperture rise (0.6 degree rise globaly in present time )
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Gautam,
sumit: thnx sir
gautam agnihotri: as mostly happens
sumit:
what is Water hemlock?
gautam agnihotri:
how to control temperture rise
manu:
hello sir
gautam agnihotri:
sir how to control temperture rise
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Panda, The in-situ capture of Carbon di Oxide and storage in caverns, storage in oceans by phytoplanktons fertilizations, increasing biomass, treating wetlands by low tillage we can store carbon. Thus atmospheric carbon can be fixed back and earth can be cooled so the warmer trend of climate can be averted. manbeer: hello sir
Prakash Joshi:
what is 3g technology Mr. Mukherji
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Gautam, Temperture rise can be controled by reducing GHG emissions by burning of bio fuels and fertilizing protozons in ocean and planting forest.
gautam agnihotri: what is GHG
swapan kumar panda:
Mr. Mukherjee....what is the impact of climate on human health ...or for that matter on total animal kingdom?
chirag:
sir please answer...
chirag:
can you tell us sir the main factor of landslides....\\
Ravindra Singh Parmar: Dear Gautam, GHG stands for Green House Gases that includes Methan , Carbon dioxide, Nitrous oxide , Ozone and water vapour etc.
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Gautam, Its stands for Green House Gases comprising of Carbon di Oxide, Methane, Nitrous oxide Chloro fluro carbon, Ozone.
gautam agnihotri:
thx dear
navneet gupta:
Good Afternoon sir
divya:
tropical rainforests are strongly beneficial in helping slow down global warming
kundli:
hello sir jii
sushi:
sir please answer my question, can u tell me any place in the world that did not have any type of natural hazards.
navneet gupta:
sir global warming affected cyclone and sunami
kundli:
what is main reason for global warming?
kundli:
can u explain cycle of global warming?
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Chirag, the basic factors trigering land slides are ectonic disturbances like Seismicity, water percolotion dissolving inter calation material of insitu rocks heavy rainfall, deforestions, dynamite blasting of rocks to carve out roads and flash floods.
navneet gupta: can carbon cradit benifit for controal of green house gases emission
Ravindra Singh Parmar:
Dear Navneet, Tsunami is triggered due to shifting of the tectonic plates in the sea-bed. In my opinion, it is not due to global warming. On the otherhand, Scientists have reported increased number of frequencies of tropical storms in past few years.
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Kundli, the main reason for global warming is biomass burning and vehicular emissions swapan kumar panda: What is Kyoto protocol?
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Sushi, Many places have been fortunate to have escaped from the wrath of Nature hazards. It does not affect all places together only specific place have been affected.
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Gupta, Cyclones and Tsunami are different type of natural hazards Tsunami is due to dispacement of a body of water, under see earthquakes or by land slides as occured at Lituya Bay Alaska , were as cyclones can be out of global warming effect.
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Navneet for third world countries with very less ambition either cheap technology for alternate sources of energy is required or Carbon cradits to bring foreign currency.
swapan kumar panda:
Bye all...thanx............thank you Mr. Mukherjee.
Dr. Tuhin Kumar Mandal:
what are the evidences of climate change
navneet gupta:
can ipcc report make a policy about global warming
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Tuhin, The evidences of climate change inferred from changes in indicators that reflect climate such as vegetation, dendrochronology, ice cores, sea level change and glacial retreat. Most of these evidences can be used to reconstruct past climates.
Dr. Tuhin Kumar Mandal:
what are some of climate induced natural hazards
chirag:
what is 3g technology
Dr. Tuhin Kumar Mandal:
how can solar flare be regarded as a natural hazard
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Panda, Kyoto protocol is and agreement made under the United Nations Framework Convention on climate (UNFCCC) Countries that ratify this protocol commit to reduce their emissions of acrbon dioxide and five other greeenhouse gases and emgage in emission trading. It was negotiated in Kyto Japan in December 1997 by Dec 2006 169 countries have ractified (representing over 61.6% of emissions as Annex I countries.
Dr. Tuhin Kumar Mandal:
is there any disaster risk reduction protocol
chirag:
sir, please answer my question
sushi:
what is 3g technology
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Tuhin Solar flare is a natural hazard in space by sudden release of great amount of solar radiation more than normal which may cause wide spead failure of communications technology across the globe. The most powerful flair ever recorded was on Nov 4 2003 estimated at between X40 and X45.
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Tuhin some of the climate induced natural hazards are blizzard, drought, hailstrom, heatwave;.
navneet gupta:
in asia which country largest green house gases produser
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Navneet China is the largest green house gas producer in Asia.
navneet gupta:
thanks sir my last question how can we do then global warming impact less harmful
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Navneet, IPCC is to asses scientific, technical and socioeconomic information relavent to climate change its impact and options. Global warming as an impact of climate change has already been considered and in working group II & III vulnerablity of consequences of climate change and options frfo limiting Green house gas emission have already been discussed Fourth assessment report which is coming out in April 2007 makes more clear the polcies on global warming.
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Navneet, we have to sensitize masses and carry out regorus preperadness to cope up with global warming effective monitoring, early warning system, periodic measurement by remote sensing such as Landsat, Over flight recommaissance, telecommunicationa and radio broadcasting system and public awarness can avart the danger to minimum level.
navneet gupta:
thankyou sir....
shri alok mukherjee:
Dear Kundli, since million yrs ;back there were marine transgression and ice age if we considered cycle of global warming today with little ice age 300 yrs back when atomosphere was cool then due to anthropogenic facts it got warmer again it will cool due to dust particles by volcanic eruptions, carbon sequestration , sulphate aeroles emerging out of dimethyl sulphid which increase cloud cover change global radiation budget and cool the earth.
shri alok mukherjee:
we have now come to an end of the chat session. Thankyou all for active participation. In case you have any further questions to ask pls send email to alok_mukherjee@yahoo.com
