Sub : Proposal for Packaging of Planet Earth Video series

Dear Sirs

Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous organization under Department of Science & Technology has taken a slot in DD-1 (9- 9.30 am every Sunday) for telecast of regular science serial. Currently a 26 part quiz show titled Jigyasa is being telecast. Subsequently from October 2008, it is proposed to telecast a 26 part video series tentatively titled ‘Planet Earth’ (in Hindi). The half-an-hour programme essentially includes a programme segment of 22 minutes. These programme segment is to be packaged with appropriate opening montage, break bumbers, quiz, quiz results, credit role and so on.

Vigyan Prasar is inviting proposals from suitable agencies having its offices in Delhi  to undertake the packaging work to prepare telecast master tapes for 26 episodes of ‘Planet Earth’  The work would involve packaging and capsuling programme for DDK with preparation of opening montage, creation and insertion of break bumpers, insertion of other relevant clips, promos, inserting of contests and results for the viewers and other related info, and making corrections if any required to the audio-video material etc.. Further the agency would have to deliver well in advance the telecast tapes that meet the technical standards as defined by DDK. Subsequent to packaging, the telecast tape in DVC pro (as per DD standards) would be submitted for telecast. The agency selected for packaging will have to deliver 2 copies of Betacam (telecast master), one unmixed master (with international track) and 1 DigiBeta , 10 VCDs, 10 DVDs for each episode as deliverables.

Interested firms/agencies can submit the proposal along with the following

1)      budget break up in a separate sealed cover (in the enclosed format)

2)      profile of the firm clearly indicating past experience in undertaking such work, and liaison with DD.

3)      details of technical facilities and infrastructure intended to be used for packaging

4)      A sample CD of programme packaged by the firm

5)      A sample montage created by the firm in any of its earlier work

(CD may be in VCD or DVD format. The sample sought vide 4 and 5 above will have to be separate CDs. )

All the above may be placed in a bigger cover and sealed and sent to ‘Registrar, Vigyan Prasar, NCMRWF Campus, A 50 Institutional Area, NOIDA 201 307’ on or before August 25, 2008.  Unsealed proposals, proposals without budget in a separate sealed cover would be rejected.
